CREW is honored to be included alongside remarkable technologies and teams by Insider! Quoted on why it's poised to take off: "Crew is the only company that is doing enhanced rock weathering in closed, engineered systems... Other companies are using the process in open systems such as agriculture or the ocean. " "The fact that Crew does enhanced rock weathering in closed systems makes the measurement, reporting, and verification of carbon sequestration far more feasible, cheap, and accurate," he added.

Autodesk donates design and make software to CREW through their Technology Impact Program

We’ve joined the Autodesk Technology Impact Program, whose goal is to empower nonprofits and startups that are using design for environmental or social good. Thank you to Autodesk and the Autodesk Foundation for awarding us with software that will advance our mission to positively impact climate change. Autodesk joined Frontier earlier this year by committing new funds to advance the carbon removal market and providing CDR startups access to their software suite.

We are excited to announce that CREW Carbon, in collaboration with Ebb Carbon, has received a grant from the Carbon to Sea Initiative, which funds critical carbon dioxide removal research and technologies! Coupling Ebb’s electrochemical OAE process with CREW’s engineered enhanced weathering technology, we will use and neutralize the acid removed from the ocean by Ebb to augment CREW's carbon dioxide removal. The Carbon to Sea grant enables this partnership to explore a value-added pathway for OAE and to scale engineered enhanced weathering.

Measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) is key for successful carbon dioxide removal - and a topic we care deeply about at CREW. So, we’re teaming up with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory as one of their industry partners in a DOE-selected project to accelerate needed MRV approaches and tech. This funded effort is one of four, totaling $15 million in federal funding, geared towards advancing MRV and commercializing carbon dioxide removal technologies.

CREW has been chosen to be one of 12 startups in Dogpatch Labs’ inaugural sustainability accelerator. This climate-focused program provides an opportunity to develop pilot projects for our CO2 removal technology in collaboration with industrial and governmental partners, and with support from the start-up ecosystem of Ireland.

"CREW speeds up the natural, long-term pathway for CO2 removal by engaging in a process called enhanced weathering. We take rock that consumes CO2 and make it more reactive by grinding it into a powder and then putting that rock powder in contact with water and CO2. By doing this process in a reactor system, we have the ability to monitor and quantify the rate of this CO2-removal pathway," explains CREW Co-Founder Joachim Katchinoff. "We are thrilled to participate in Frontier Climate's latest round of carbon removal purchases— their largest yet! With this transformational support from Frontier, we are accelerating CREW’s development as we grow from pilot to full-scale deployments."

We're thrilled to announce that we have been selected to participate in Imagine H2O's 2024 Accelerator Program! From hundreds of applicants, our solution was one of the 10 handpicked for the program this year.  Imagine H2O, a global nonprofit supporting entrepreneurial water solutions, will provide CREW the opportunity to continue scaling new opportunities and connections, enabling us to remove CO2 and other greenhouse gasses produced in the wastewater treatment process at scale.
